History

The Honor Cross 1847 (Cruz de Honor) was authorized in Mexico in recognition of the military personnel who participated at the battle of Chapultepec Castle and El Molino del Rio, where an invading American army was advanced through Mexico City in 1847.

The Cross might be awarded posthumously.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "The Fatherland to Merit," and a reverse inscription that can be translated to "He Fought for the Integrity of the National Territory."
