History

The Loyalty Cross (Cruz a la Lealtad) was instituted by the Mexican government in 1920 to the supporters who were with Venustiano Carranza during his exile trip when he was killed by his opponents. Carranza was leader of the Mexican Revolution and was elected president of Mexico in 1917.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "To Loyalty on May 1920."
