History

The Naval Aeronautical Merit Star (Estrella al Mérito Aeronáutico Naval) was instituted in Mexico by decree on December 17, 1945. It was awarded to navy personnel for meritorious actions during the performance of their duties.

The Medal was authorized with two grades; I Class Star and II Class Star. It is not clear if the class denotes the rank of the recipient.

The Star features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "Aeronautical Navy Merit," and a reverse inscription that translates to "Created by Decree of 17th December, 1945."
