History

The Star for Tamaulipas 1847 (Estrella de Tamaulipas) was authorized by the Mexican government in 1847, in recognition of the Mexican Officers who fought at Tamaulipas border against American invading forces during the Mexican-American War between 1846-1848.

The Star features a reverse inscription that can be translated to "He Fought for the Integrity of the National Territory."
