History

The Medal of Honour was instituted in 1998 and is conferred upon citizens of Saint Kitts and Nevis, in recognition of notable services to the nation. It is the 3rd highest national honour.

The obverse is inscribed with "MEDAL OF HONOUR ST. CHRISTOPHER AND NEVIS". Those awarded the Medal will carry the title "Recipient of the Medal of Honour", with the post-nominal letters "MH".

Despite seceding in 1983, Saint Kitts and Nevis remains a part of the Commonwealth; therefore Her Majesty the Queen acts as Grand Master of the Order. The National Honours System is overseen by the Governor General, who is responsible for conferring the Medal.
