History

The Naval Flight Nurse Badge is awarded to commissioned officers who are trained as registered nurses in recognition of the completion of qualifying training as a military flight nurse and advanced studies in aerospace medicine and upon the completion of a period of in-flight instruction and observation.

Unlike the Army Air Force and Air Force Flight Nurse Badges, which are issued in 3 grades, the Naval Flight Nurse Badge is issued in a single degree.
