The Department of Defense Inspector General Distinguished Service Award is awarded by the United States Department of Defense Office of the Inspector General. The Medal is awarded to United States permanent civilian employees of the Office of the Inspector General in recognition of distinguished service that is exceptional and broadly contributes to the Department of Defense or the Inspector General.
