History

The John Jacobs Rogers Award was established by the United States Department of State. The award was named in honour of United States Congressman John Jacobs Rogers. The Silver Medal was awarded to employees of the Department of State upon retirement in recognition of 25 years or more of dedicated and distinguished government or military service. The Medal has since been made obsolete and was replaced by the Secretary's Career Achievement Award.
