History

The NASA Equal Employment Opportunity Medal was first established in 1969 as the Equal Employment Opportunity Award. The Medal was not authorized for wear with the award until 1977. The Medal is awarded to government and non-government employees in recognition of outstanding and significant achievement and material contributions to NASA’s Equal Employment Opportunity Program goals within government and community organizations and groups.
