History

The Order was founded to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the People's Democratic Republic of Korea.

This Order is conferred upon individuals who aided in founding the Republic, and upon those that provided distinguished service to the party, armed forces, or state within 20 years of development.

The reverse inscription is a translation of the original Korean inscription.
