Physical Description


An eight-pointed star, the obverse center bears a circular red enamel medallion with three figures in the center, encompassed by a white enamel border inscribed with DAN VU BOI TINH, the reverse is plain, on a dark blue and red ribbon.

History


This medal was conferred upon military units or personnel of the Vietnam Armed Forces and Allied Forces in recognition of notable contributions and achievements to civil affairs.

The I Class Medal was awarded to Commissioned Officers. The medal is identical for the I Class and II Class, but the ribbon differs. The I Class ribbon is dark green with 2 wide and 2 narrow red vertical stripes.

It was awarded in 4 levels, which were represented by ribbon decorations:

1) Armed Forces - Palm
2) Corps - Gold Star
3) Division - Silver Star
4) Regiment/Brigade - Bronze Star

The obverse inscription translates to "Civil Action" and "Medal".
