Physical Description

A triangular shaped medal, the obverse bears a map of Vietnam on a pebbled background with the inscription TO QUOC NHAN DAN, with a banner on the bottom inscribed with XAY DUNG NONG THON, bordered with a leaf pattern, the reverse is plain, with a bar suspension on a brown and yellow ribbon, with a ribbon decoration of a palm leaf.

History

The Rural Revolutionary Development Medal could be awarded to both military and civilian personnel, as well as groups and organization both Vietnamese and foreign that actively contributed to or sacrificed for the work of rural areas.
