Physical Description


A white Maltese cross with the arms split down the center, a trident sits in the quadrants between the arms, the obverse center bears a medallion with three thin triangles on a red enamel background, encompassed by a yellow enamel border inscribed with LUC QUAN HUAN CHUONG, the reverse is inscribed with VIETNAM within a circular border, on a brown and green ribbon of two intertwined pieces with a fringe at the bottom.

History


This Order was conferred upon Army military Officers of South Vietnam in recognition of meritorious service and gallantry for any kind of service, combat or non-combat. It was also awarded for citations and wounds in combat. It ceased to be awarded in 1974.

The ribbon for the Army decoration is green and brown interlocking vertical lines. The I Class ribbon feature a rosette.
