History

The Air Gunner Badge was established in 1919 and has since undergone a number of design changes.

It is classified into three types based on these design changes. Type I badges are in the shape of a winged man, Type II badges feature a stylised arrow in a wreath, and Type III badges depict a flying eagle.

There are two versions of Type III badge that differ in inscription. The second version features a small "S" in the obverse wreath.
