History

The Glider Pilot Badge was established by the Government of the Republic of Poland in exile in 1945. It was awarded to Polish pilots who participated in Operation Market Garden in 1944.

There is a second version that has a gold wreath on the lower part of the badge. This version was awarded to combat pilots who landed in enemy territory during the operation.
