Marigold_77 commented on Exemplary Conduct Medal, Gold Medal (1911-1921)
I like this! you've done pretty good job classifying Portuguese medals ... I'm not sure if there is an official classification of them because the Portuguese Faleristika is a fairly new study.

Marigold_77 commented on Order of Saint Isabel, Gold Badge
According to the statutes of the Order, this Order is always made in gold.. Does anyone know why there are versions of silver-gilt on the market? Are they fake?

Tassie86 commented on Distinguished Flying Cross
Why are different 'additional award' devices used for different types of awards? Oak leaves, stars, "V" devices.. why not use one style throughout?

Moritz commented on Eastern Front Medal
Many collectors are drawn to this decoration because it's the so-called "Frozen Meat Medal" and as such embodies the hardships on the Eastern Front. But for me this one will always stand out due to the design of its ribbon. Hands down, the most beautiful of the German WW2 ribbons! Instantly recognisable, even on black and white period photos.

Moritz commented on German Cross, in Gold, by Deschler (6 rivets, short pin)
If you ask me, 6 rivets on this decoration is the most aesthetically pleasing number of rivets.

Marigold_77 commented on Imperial Order of Guadalupe, Type I, Supernumerary Knight
To be honored with the Supernumerary Knight, the recipient must be 25 years old, be a citizen of the Mexican Empire, be a Catholic, be a Public figure and be qualified by the Assembly of the Order.

Moritz commented on HJ Skiing Badge
The way this badge combines all these different shapes into one item is fascinating! On the one hand, it's a shame that it wasn't given out more often. But on the other hand, the rarity of it certainly contributes to its special character.
