Physical Description and Item Details


Neck Badge as an 8 pointed silver gilt star with well executed red enamels, centre double headed eagle in black enamels, crown swivel suspension, measuring 51x69mm (inclusive of crown with star suspension), unmarked, reverse 8 o'clock arm with enamel flake, on original worn neck ribbon, very fine.

History


The Order was founded by Prince Wilhelm Weid of Albania.

This Order was the highest title conferrable upon citizens of the Principality of Albania, and it was awarded to recognize civil and military merit.

The Order was discontinued on September 5, 1914, less than 5 months after it was founded, making it one of the rarest European Orders.
