This award was founded to recognize the service of military personnel in the Albanian Resistance during World War II.

The Type II badge was awarded to recognize uninterrupted service between July 10, 1943-November 29, 1944 within political or military roles.

This badge is also known as the Commemorative Partisan Star and the Remembrance Medal 1942-1943.
