History

This award was founded to recognize the service of military personnel in the Albanian Resistance during World War II.

The Type I medal was awarded to recognize service rendered between July 1942-July 1943.

This medal may also be known as the Remembrance Medal 1942-1943, and it was replaced by a redesigned badge and medal on July 9, 1945.
