History

This Order is conferred upon Senior and high ranking Officers of the Armenian Armed Forces and other Forces in recognition of extraordinary gallantry while on active service. It is also awarded for significant services in combat preparation and army development.

The obverse Armenian inscriptions translate to "Commander" and "Vardan Mamikonian".
