History

This medal was conferred in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Belarus.

It was awarded for notable contributions to combat preparation of the Red Banner Belarusian Military District, service in veteran's organizations, contributions to military education, patriotism, and strengthening the defence and security forces of the Republic.

Recipients included Generals and Officers of the Interior Troops, Armed Forces, Railway Troops, Military Unit 04152, Heroes of the Soviet Union, recipients of the Order of Glory, and military leaders living in the Commonwealth.

The obverse Cyrillic inscription translates to "80 Years". The reverse Cyrillic inscription translates to "The Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus".
