History

The Order was awarded to recognize dedication to labour, and for merit in building socialism within Czechoslovakia.

This Order was conferrable upon individual civilians, Military personnel, groups, and businesses.

There are two main versions of this Order.

The stars issued from 1955-1960 feature a rearing lion wearing a crown on the reverse and the inscription "REPUBLIKA ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ."

The stars issued from 1960-1989 feature the rearing lion from the 1960 Czechoslovak coat of arms on the reverse medallion and the inscription "ČSSR ESSR."

The reverse of the star's suspension is numbered.
