History
There are two versions of this Badge. The first was instituted in 1917 and withdrawn in 1934. The second version was instituted in 1934 and is identical to the first, except for the fact that the eagle was silvered and not gilt. This version was withdrawn in 1936.
The first version was worn by Army Pilots and the second version was worn by all Flying Personnel in both the Army and Navy.
The Badge was worn on the right breast pocket.
