The Gendarmerie was replaced by the Hellenic Police in 1984, and it is uncertain whether the Cross of Valour of the Gendarmerie is still awarded. More research is necessary for confirmation.

History

The Cross of Valour for the Gendarmerie was awarded to the Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and enlisted men of the Gendarmerie for exceptional acts of courage during service. A small gilt crown clasp could be awarded for each additional citation.

The Cross of Valour of the Gendarmerie is identical to the Cross of Valour (GRC107) and differs only in the ribbon pattern. This ribbon has two blue stripes instead of three. The reverse inscription translates to "For Merit."
