The Divisions of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal for Outstanding Service is awarded for exemplary military service. It is awarded to Lithuanians in recognition of the completion of compulsory service, and to professional military personnel in recognition of at least 5 years of service. It may also be awarded to foreign military personnel, but only under exceptional circumstances.

If the recipient is awarded the Medal a second, third, or fourth time, a bronze, silvered, or gilt Gediminas columns clasp is worn on the ribbon.
