History


The National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania Medal of Merit is awarded to Lithuanian military personnel in recognition of long and meritorious service of at least 10 years to the National Defence System. It may also be awarded to foreigners for contributions to the Lithuanian National Defence System, but only under exceptional circumstances.

If the recipient is awarded the Medal a second, third, or fourth time, a bronze, silvered, or gilt oak leaf clasp is awarded and worn on the ribbon.
