History

The Decoration for Merit to Banking Services was established by the Council of Ministers in 1983 and was administered by the National Bank of Poland. It was awarded to bank employees for long and meritorious service. It was discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989, but a similar decoration was established by the Republic of Poland in 2003.

The Silver Decoration features an obverse inscription that translates to "For Merit to the Bank of the Polish People's Republic."
