History

The honorary title of Meritorious Dock Worker of the Polish People's Republic was established by the Council of State in 1982. It was permanently discontinued in 1992 following the collapse of the communist regime.

It was conferred upon Polish dock workers for long and meritorious service. Recipients were entitled to a monetary award in the form of a pension increase.

The Badge features initials on the obverse that stand for "Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa" (Polish People's Republic) and an additional inscription that translates to "Meritorious Dock Worker."
