History

The Home Army Cross was established by the Government of the Republic of Poland in exile in 1966. It was not awarded by the Polish People's Republic, but it was recognised by the Republic of Poland in 1992 following the collapse of the communist regime. It was officially discontinued in 1999.

It was awarded to all members of the Home Army who participated in the Polish Underground State between 1939-1945.

The Silver Cross features the symbol of the Home Army, whose initials stand for "Polska Walczaca" (Fighting Poland). The reverse inscription translates to "Home Army."
