History

The Decoration for Agricultural Merit was established by the Council of Ministers in 1996 as a replacement for the Decoration for Meritorious Agricultural Workers that was awarded in the Polish People’s Republic. It is awarded by the Minister of Agriculture and Food to Polish citizens in recognition of meritorious service in agriculture, the food industry, or veterinary services, or in recognition of outstanding contributions to rural development. It may also be awarded to foreigners.

The Silver Decoration features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "Meritorious Agricultural Worker."
