History

The Decoration for Merit to Geodesy and Cartography was established by the Council of Ministers in 1999 as a replacement for the Decoration for Merit to Geodesy and Cartography that was awarded in the Polish People’s Republic. It is currently awarded by the Minister of Infrastructure and Construction to Polish citizens, including surveyors and spatial planners, in recognition of meritorious service in the fields of geodesy and cartography.

The Gold Decoration features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "For Merit to Geodesy and Cartography."

See also the Decoration for Merit to Geodesy and Cartography (POL524) in the Medals & Decorations of the Polish People’s Republic (1944-1989).
