History

The National Military Action Cross was established by the National Armed Forces in 1944, but it was not recognised as a state organisation until 1992. It was awarded to members of the National Armed Forces in recognition of their service in the Second World War. The National Armed Forces was a Polish anti-Nazi, anti-Soviet resistance organisation that was active during the Second World War.

The Silver Cross features initials on the obverse that stand for "Narodowe Siły Zbrojne" (National Armed Forces), and initials on the reverse that stand for "Związek Jaszczurczy" (Lizard Union), "Narodowa Organizacja Wojskowa" (National Military Organization), and "Narodowe Zjednoczenie Wojskowe" (National Military Union). The reverse also features an inscription that translates to "National Military Achievement."
