History


The Order of Educational Merit was established in 2000. It is conferred upon Romanian citizens and foreigners in recognition of meritorious service in the field of education.

Membership in the Grand Officer grade is limited to 800 members.

The Grand Officer is identical to the Commander, however, only the Grand Officer is worn with a Breast Star.

The Grand Officer features a reverse inscription that translates to "For Merit in Education."
