History

The Order of Cultural Merit was conferred upon Romanian citizens in recognition of achievements in a variety of cultural fields including art and literature. It was permanently suppressed following the collapse of the Socialist Republic in 1989.

Recipients of the IV Class Breast Star were granted a monetary award of 700 lei (175 USD).

There may be additional versions of the IV Class Breast Star that differ in composition.
