This medal was conferred upon Serbian and Montenegrin military personnel in recognition of their service during WWI. It was also awarded to Allied military personnel for their service during Serbia's Liberation War.

The obverse features an inscription in Cyrillic which translates to "Petar I King of Serbia", and is dated "1914" and "1918". The reverse is also dated.
