This Medal is an unofficial award that was conferred upon Italian Officers, and the Officers of foreign allies, who had rendered service in the battle of the Piave in 1918.

There are two models of this Medal. The first model features the left facing portrait of three women on the obverse medallion, and the obverse inscription "1918 " and the reverse inscription "NELLA FEDE FRATELLI E NELLA VITTORIA ARMATA ALTIPANI." These medals may be stamped by the manufacturer Stefano Johnson "S.J." The second model features an eagle with outstretched wings on the obverse medallion, and the obverse inscription "A TE RITORNA CADORE IL CANTICO SACRO ALLA PATRIA" and the reverse inscription "INTENDENZE DELLE ARMATE DELL GRAPPA DEGLI ALTIPIANI 1 APRILE 11 NOVEMBRE 1918." These medals are stamped "E.MORONI DIS."
