History

This decoration was founded by Victor Emmanuel III to recognize the meritorious efforts and contributions by Italian farmers that resulted in the growth of national agriculture. The decoration was discontinued in 1944.

The Gold Star was meant to reward exceptional merit and services, and it was restricted to 10 recipients per year.

These decorations may be stamped with engraver and manufacturer marks, including "SIAM ROMA," "75 GE," and "7 TO," or have no marks at all.
