History

This Medal was initially founded to reward the heads of various sport federations for two years of distinguished service. It was later expanded to also award Italian athletes, fascists, managers, and members of the Armed Forces who had rendered commendable service to Italian sport.

These medals may be stamped by engravers and manufacturers, such as "VENTRELLA ROMA," and "E. GARDINO ROMA," or have no marks at all.
