History

The Medal for Arlaban was created by Don Carlos Maria Isidro (Carlos V) on May 21, 1836. It was awarded to those who distinguished themselves in action in the Battle of Arlaban. The characteristics of this medal are unknown and there is limited information regarding this item.

The Battle of Arlaban was fought between January 16 and 17, 1836. The Liberals occupied Arlaban with the assistance of the British Legion, French Legion and units lead by Baldomero Espartero. The Liberals were commanded by Luis Fernández de Córdova. After conquering Arlaban and Legutiano, the Liberals were pushed back by the Carlsits on January 18, 1836.
