The Cross of the Royal Army of Peru was instituted by the Spanish Kingdom to reward the royal army which was defending the Crown in Peru. Peru was one of the main Spanish centers in South America.
It is not clear if the composition of the medal denotes the rank of the recipient.
The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Royal Army of Peru, Ground of Honor," and a reverse inscription that translates to "To Courage and Loyalty."
