History

The Commemorative Medal for the Assignment of the Port of Cádiz as a Free Trade Zone was established in Spain by the Court of Cádiz in 1829. It was founded in commemoration of the assignment of the Port of Cádiz as a free trade zone by King Ferdinand VII on February 21, 1829.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Ferdinand VII, King of Spain," and a reverse inscription that could be translated to "To Our Catholic and very Loved King, the City Hall of Cádiz Dedicates this Monument as Eternal Gratitude for Having been Declared the Cádiz Port as a Free Zone."
