History

The Medal for the 7th of July, 1822 was founded in Spain by the General Courts of Spain to reward individuals who belonged of the liberal forces that quelled the Royal Guard's uprising in Madrid on July 7, 1822.

Some versions feature a mural crown suspension.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that could be translated to "Political and Monarchical Spanish Constitution Promulgated in Cádiz, 1812," and a reverse inscription that could be translated to "Memorable Action of the 7th of July, 1822."
