History


The Cross for Hort Sanctuary was authorized in Spain by the regency of Baldomero Espartero in recognition of the National Militia of Barcelona that defended the Sanctuary of Hort on January, 1836.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that translates "To Constancy and Suffering," and a reverse inscription that can be translated to "January 23, 1836, for the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora del Horts."
