History


The Cross for Vargas was authorized in Spain by the regency of Maria Christina, in recognition of citizens and military personnel who defended the Spanish regency against Carlists forces at the battle of Vargas on November 3, 1833.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "To Valor and Loyalty, Vargas November 3, 1833."
