History


The Medal for Fuenterrabía was authorized in Spain by the regency of Maria Christina to reward the military personnel who participated in the battle at Fuenterrabía against Carlists troops in 1837.

The Medal was authorized with two grades. The Gold Medal was awarded to Generals and Officers, while the Silver Medal was awarded to enlisted men.
