History

The Medal for the Night of October 7, 1841 was instituted in Spain by the regency of Baldomero Espartero in recognition of those troops which defeated the troops of the liberal party on the night of October 7, 1841 when the latter interrupted in the Royal Palace of Madrid to take the regent María Cristina and her daughter, later Queen Isabel II of Spain, and take them to Barcelona to establish a new monarchy without the influence of Espartero.

It is not clear if the Medal was awarded by ranks.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates "1837 Constitution They Gave their Blood for the Law and The Crown," and a reverse inscription that translates "Night of October 7, 1841."
