The Cross for Military Engineers Corps Escape from Madrid was founded in Spain by King Ferdinand VII on May 30, 1816. It was awarded to those military engineers who escaped from the French Army in 1808, and joined the Army of Andalusia to fight against to Napoleonic forces during the Peninsular War.
