History


The Cross for the Battle of Arroyomolinos was founded by royal decree of May 1, 1817. It was conferred upon Spanish military personnel commanded by General Don Pedro Agustin Giron, who fought and defeated the French Division of General Girald at Arroyomolinos on October 28, 1811.

The Gold Cross was awarded to Officer, while the Silver Cross was awarded to the troops.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that translates to "Arroyo Molinos on October 28, 1811," and a plain reverse.
