History


The Cross of the Battle of Castalla was founded by Fernando VII to reward Mallorca Division forces who fought the French army, commanded by Marshal Suchet, in Castalla on April 13, 1813.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that translates to"Castalla April 13, 1813," and a reverse inscription, D.M., that stands to "Division of Majorca."
