The Cross for the Reconquest of Sevilla was founded by King Fernando VII to reward the military personnel who participated in the reconquest of Sevilla on August 27, 1812.

The Cross features a reverse inscription that translates to "The King to the Re-captors of Seville, 27th of August, 1812."
